Congratulations on getting this far on Checkboard's AML check. Below is a quick guide on how to proceed:

Part 1: Banking

Solicitors and law firms must understand where the money comes from when dealing with large amounts of money to prevent money laundering and fraud.

Step 1: Select your bank from the list

Step 2: Read the consent page and click "Allow".

You should be redirected to your bank's app where you will complete the process.

Step 3: Click "Continue" once the link is successful.

I'm required to connect to online banking, however:

  1. I don't want to connect to open banking

  2. I don't have online banking

  3. My bank is not listed

Follow the following alternative steps to continue with the check:

Step 1: Navigate to the bottom of the Banking segment and select the

"I would like to do something else" option

Step 2: Select your reason

Step 3: Upload the relevant bank statements

Part 2: Declare your Source of Funds

Here, you will be selecting the bank account(s) from which you will be making the payments. the total amounts must add up to the total purchase price. If part of the financing comes from a co-buyer, select the "Co-buyer Funds" option, and if the the funds are from a donor, then select the "Gift" option.

Step 1: Click on "Add more funds.

Step 2: Select the source of funds

Step 3: Add the amount to the corresponding source and click "Continue" to complete this section

You should repeat these steps until all your 'Confirmed funds' match your 'Funds required'.

What if some of my bank accounts are not showing?

Some banks' open banking systems only allow for current accounts or credit cards digital statements, but not savings accounts.

In this case, navigate to "Other" in the list of source of funds and enter the amount of savings. Remember to upload the corresponding bank statements as supporting documents.
