When you connect your bank account through Open Banking, the connection can stay active for up to 85 days.

In most cases, we only access your information at the time you complete your check.

On our platform, your Open Banking data is considered valid for 30 days.

If your report needs to be resubmitted for some reason, we may refresh your data (as long as the connection is still active) to make sure the most up-to-date information is shared.

Your bank connection will automatically close:

  • After the 85-day access period ends, or

  • If you choose to disconnect it manually through the Checkboard app or directly via your bank.

Whichever happens first.

What can Checkboard see or do?

Open Banking gives us read-only access.

This means:

  • We can view the transaction information needed for your check.

  • We cannot move money.

  • We cannot make payments.

  • We cannot change anything in your account.

Your money and account stay fully under your control at all times.

Can I stop access early?

Yes: you’re always in control.

You can remove access at any time:

  • In the Checkboard app, or

  • In your bank’s app or online banking

If you’re unsure how to do this through your bank, please contact them directly, as the steps vary between banks.
