Google has recently updated its Android app policies, now requiring that all new apps must support Android 13 and above. This change affects the installation and functionality of newer versions of the Checkboard app on older Android devices.

The Way Forward

If you're unable to install the app due to device compatibility, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Solicitor Contact
Please ask your solicitor to get in touch with us so we can discuss a potential workaround for this issue.

  2. Alternative Device Method
If you have access to another person's device that has already been used to complete the Checkboard process, you may proceed as follows:

    • Have them delete the Checkboard app from their phone.

    • On your own phone, send a Checkboard invite text to their number.

    • On their device, download the app using the link received in the text.

    • When prompted, enter your own mobile number.

    • You will receive a verification code on your phone.

    • Enter the code to begin the process as yourself on their device.

This temporary method will allow you to complete the Checkboard flow, even if your own device is incompatible due to the Android version requirement.
